のびる会:日本語を通してのコミュニティー作り
活動内容:
のびる会は「日本語を通してのコミュニティー作り」をしております。のびる会は以下の使命をもって活動しております
- 日本語を通してコミュニティーを構築できるような機会を作る。
- 社会・教育・医療・法律の分野において、日英両語でかつ日米両文化に精通したサービスを、コミュニティーに情報照会を通して提供する。
- プログラムや活動を通して、日本人渡米者がアメリカ社会に適応できるよう間接的サービスを提供する。
- コミュニティーと他のグループ、特に日系人コミュニティのメンバーとの掛け橋になる。
- コミュニティと既存の地域・州・連邦機関との間をつなぐ連絡役となる。
上記の各活動内容使命それぞれに含まれる個々の活動項目は以下の通りです。
日本語を通してコミュニティーを構築できるような機会を作る。
- 日本語での講演を毎月実施。
- コミュニティーが、社交場として交流可能な定期的な各種イベントを主催。
- 団体本部にて、読書室、書籍交換サービスの場を主催。
社会・教育・医療・法律の分野において、日英両語で かつ日米両文化に精通したサービスをコミュニティーに情報照会を通して提供する。
- 電話で照会を直接提供。
- コミュニティーの必要性に応えられるサービスリストを維持。
プログラムや活動を通して、日本人渡米者がアメリカ社会に適応できるよう間接的サービスを提供する。
コミュニティーと他のグループ、特に日系人団体との掛け橋になる。
- 日系アメリカ人が第二次世界大戦で経験した様々な苦難を討論するイベントを日本語で主催。
- 日本の文化・伝統、言語を紹介するイベントのスポンサー。
日本語コミュニティと既存の地域・州・連邦機関との間をつなぐ連絡役となる。
- 日本領事館との連絡、つながりを維持。
- その他の機関、特に、サンフランシスコ・ジャパンタウンとのつながりの維持。

Mission Statement
- Provide opportunities to Japanese-speakers living in the United States to cultivate a sense of community for themselves (regardless of national origin, race, etc.);
- Provide bilingual/bicultural referral services in the social, educational, medical and legal fields to Japanese-speakers living in the United States;
- Help Japanese newcomers cope with the process of adjusting to the U.S. with programs and activities;
- Serve as a bridge between the Japanese-speaking community and others, in particular the Japanese-American community; and
- Serve as a liaison between the Japanese-speaking community and existing local, state and federal institutions.
Specific Activities that fall under the above mission are as follows;
- Provide opportunities in which Japanese-speakers who live in the United States can create a community for themselves;
- Sponsor monthly seminars in the Japanese language;
- Sponsor smaller, regularly occurring events in which Japanese-speakers can socialize and interact;
- Host a reading room and book exchange service at the headquarters.
- Provide bilingual/bicultural referral services in the social, educational, medical and legal fields to Japanese speakers living in the United States;
- Provide direct referral services over the phone;
- Maintain a directory of services that cater to Japanese-speakers.
- Help Japanese newcomers cope with the process of adjusting to living in the U.S. with programs and activities;
- English language classes;
- Seminars;
- Intercultural services.
- Serve as a bridge between the Japanese-speaking community and others, in particular the Japanese-American community.
- Maintain positive relationships with other Community organizations, especially within SF Japantown;
- Sponsor events in Japanese language that discuss the hardship that Japanese Americans experiences during WW II;
- Sponsor events that showcase Japanese culture and languages;
- Japanese language classes.
- Serve as a liaison between the Japanese-speaking community and existing local, state and federal institutions;
- Maintain a relationship with the Consulate General’s office of Japan;
- Referral service in Japanese.
We are a tax-exempt organization under IRS Section 501 (c) (3).
